As you know, I am not partial to show people. I find them to be braggarts, and often vulgar. Although I do have them over for tea on occasion, but never when my Aunt Carolyn is present, becasue she has a weak heart and the show people often say things that the average tea guest will kindly ignore or gloss over, but I fear that Aunt Carolyn, who doesn't understand these things, may have a heart attack and die. As show people go, I find Mr. Simon Cowell a refreshing blend of sincerity and good conscience. Yes, dear readers, you may be surprised to learn that I am a fan of American Idol. Who does not appreciate a good singing competition? I am not fond of Mr. Jackson or Ms. Abdul. But Mr. Cowell, as tehy say, "tells it like it is." And now I see from my morning New York Times, that he is in Africa working with the underpriviledged. That makes me like him even more.
