Mr. Todd Oldham. Hmmm...Mr. Oldham is the type of man that the late Mr. Van der Loop would call, "An odd duck." That terribly odd voice and manner of phrasing he has. I do so love all of the Bravo "Top" shows, but I must confess that when Mr. Oldham speaks it rather makes my skin crawl. As to Mr. Jonathan Adler, well, at first I thought he was fine, but as the weeks go by he seems to be turning into a bit of an odd duck himself. These boys are not show people, really. They are designers--tradespeople. They are used to the world of commerce and commercial intercourse, and I assume they know, in their heart of hearts, how to present themselves in a more seemly manner. But, last night, the knot in Mr. Adler's tie was so ridiculously large, to a point of such exaggeration, that it could no longer pretend to tastefullness. Paired with his striped shirt and the sports jacket, he looked very much like a clown. At one point, my maid Helen turned to me and said "Mrs. V, this show's turning into a regular circus sideshow." I quite a gree with Helen. I cannot comment on the behavior of the contestants. The bickering, the crying, the neverending whining. Entertaining perhaps. Good breeding, perhaps not.
